I became a doula because I believe every woman deserves to feel supported, respected, and empowered during pregnancy and birth. For over a decade, I’ve worked with families in Canberra, helping them move from fear and uncertainty to joy and confidence.

My support is educational, practical, physical and emotional. That might mean educating you and your partner about the physiology of childbirth and how to use a variety of comfort measure to cope with the intensity of birth, creating henna body art or hosting a mother blessing ceremony to honour your journey, coming to your home and/or to hospital while you labour to provide hands on support, guidance and advocacy, visiting during postpartum to offer company, advice, light housework, massage or to care for your baby, preparing nourishing meals to support you to rest and heal, or offering reiki when you need calm and balance.

When you invite me into your journey, you’re not only hiring a service, you’re welcoming someone who will care for you like family. As a mother of four, I understand the need to feel held, seen and looked after. I absolutely love being there for new and expecting families, it is such an honour and priviledge!

Deb Namara and I can work in partnership for pregnancy, birth and postpartum support if you would like an extra heart and hands on board. We both trained with Mirabai Vines at The Birth Yurt and are both passionate about informed birth choices and natural therapies, so working together is an absolute perfect fit. Having 2 doulas to rely on is a huge advantage for our clients! See Deb's website here:

“Kellie and Deb are amazing Doulas!

They helped me feel more comfortable with birth, I had some pretty daunting ideas on what I thought birth was going to be and they really helped me reflect and see birth in a whole new light. It was no longer going to be a scary daunting event, but one that was positive and made me feel excited about how amazing our bodies are that we can grow AND birth these babies – by the end I was like ‘Let’s do this!!’
The birth planning helped keep my mind open to the different birthing options. I had time to consider the “what ifs” and have some acceptance if the alternative birthing option became my birth story.
It was perfect timing having Deb support me through labour – she even massaged me into Stage 2!! During labour, my husband and Deb alternated with back massages and heat packs to help ease the contractions. My husband even said afterwards that he was relieved to have Deb there to alternate and give him a break during this time. I just focused on breathing, relaxation and that was enough to get me through a natural drug free birth.
I was so underprepared for birth before I met Kellie and Deb, that even if my birth story ended differently, having them in my close circle of support would be enough, highly recommend.”
